Commissioner Carlo Mearelli of ENAC attended the 25th anniversary ceremony of the Linate disaster in Milan, which was held at the Basilica di S. Ambrogio and was officiated by Archbishop Mario Delpini. The ceremony was attended by families of the 118 victims, representatives of the Comitato 8 Ottobre and other authorities.

The day began with a moment of reflection at Linate airport before a memorial stone, and Mearelli said the memory of the 118 victims is a daily responsibility and that safety is an inviolable value. He called for rigorous vigilance, constant flight‑safety oversight and continuous prevention focus, stating that safety is first a culture belonging to every person working in civil aviation, and ENAC reaffirmed its closeness to the families and the Comitato 8 Ottobre, which has turned the pain of the tragedy into a civil commitment to keep flight safety high.
