Istanbul Airport was named the most connected airport in the world in OAG’s Megahubs 2026 research, offering 337 destinations and achieving a connectivity index of 265.4, with Turkish Airlines providing roughly 80% of the airport’s capacity.

Heathrow Airport recorded a connectivity index of 246.2, and its potential connections declined by 6% compared with the previous year, while Istanbul Airport moved from second to first place in the 2025 most‑connected list.
