Cookies and browser storage
App Dragons Ltd, United Kingdom, runs this site. Our own code sets no cookies until you accept activity recording. It keeps a few small items in your browser's storage, listed below. Other cookies come from our analytics provider, PostHog, only if you accept activity recording, and from advertising networks, only if you choose non-personalised or personalised ads. Questions: hello@terminair.com. How we use personal data is in the privacy policy.
What we store in your browser
You can inspect or delete any of these in your browser's developer tools or by clearing site data. Deleting them signs you out and forgets your choices.
| Name | Type | What it holds | When it is set | How long | Needs consent? |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
terminal.theme | localStorage | Your colour theme, green or amber. | When you choose a theme or the page restores it. | Until you clear site data. | Remembers a choice you made. |
terminal.layout | localStorage | Your widget layout on the home screen: which widgets are on and in what order. | When you move, close or add a widget. | Until you clear site data. | Remembers a choice you made. |
terminal.consent | localStorage | Your activity recording choice: granted or denied. | When you press ACCEPT or REJECT on the privacy choices. | Until you clear site data or change it. | Records your choice. |
terminal.consent.ads | localStorage | Your advertising choice: refused, non-personalised or personalised. | When you choose on the privacy choices. | Until you clear site data or change it. | Records your choice. |
sb-<project>-auth-token | localStorage | Your sign-in session from our authentication provider, Supabase: access and refresh tokens and your account details. | When you sign in. | Until you sign out. The session is renewed while you use the site. | Keeps you signed in; only set if you sign in. |
sb-<project>-auth-token-code-verifier | localStorage | A one-time secret that completes a Google, Apple or email-link sign-in in the same browser. | When you start to sign in. | Removed when sign-in completes. | Completes a sign-in you asked for. |
terminal.signin-address | localStorage | The email address you last asked for a sign-in link with, so an expired link can offer a new one in one click. | When you ask for a sign-in link. | Until you clear site data. | Completes a sign-in you asked for. |
terminal.anon | localStorage | A random identifier that ties your activity events together before you have an account. Our code sets no expiry on it. | Only after you accept activity recording; it is not created before you accept. | Until you clear site data or reject activity recording (rejecting removes it). It has no expiry date. | Not necessary: only with your consent. |
terminal.session | sessionStorage | A random identifier for this browsing session, sent with activity events. | Only after you accept activity recording. | Until the tab closes, or you reject activity recording. | Not necessary: only with your consent. |
The two identifiers are not created, and nothing is sent to us, until you accept activity recording. If you reject, they are removed from your browser.
Analytics, only after you accept activity recording
If you accept activity recording, our analytics provider PostHog (EU hosting, eu.i.posthog.com) is loaded and stores, on our domain, a cookie and local storage items named ph_phc_…_posthog and other items beginning ph_ or __ph. They hold your anonymous ID (or account ID after sign-in), your current session and whether a session recording is running, and last up to one year. They are not necessary and are never set before you accept. If you reject or withdraw, PostHog stops and these items are removed from your browser.
Third parties that set cookies, only after you choose
You have three equal advertising choices, in this order: refuse, non-personalised and personalised. If you refuse, no advertising network script is requested, no advertising cookie is set, and you see only our own message in the advertisement panel. Advertising networks load only if you choose non-personalised or personalised, and only when an ad network is switched on for the site. Until you choose, and if you refuse, no advertising script is requested and no advertising cookie exists. Your choice is kept in this browser only. The names and lifetimes of their cookies are set by them and can change; see their own notices.
- Google (AdSense), from
pagead2.googlesyndication.com. Loads only if you choose non-personalised or personalised, never if you refuse. If you choose non-personalised we ask Google for non-personalised ads, which do not use your interests; Google may still use cookies or similar technology for things like limiting how often an ad is shown, measurement and fraud prevention. How Google uses data. - Yandex Advertising Network, from
yandex.ru. Loads only if you choose personalised and only when Yandex is switched on for the site. It has no non-personalised mode, so with either other choice nothing from Yandex loads. Yandex privacy policy.
These providers may also tell the advertiser and others which ad was shown to which browser. If you change your advertising choice, the page reloads so no script from your earlier choice stays on the page. To remove cookies already set, clear them in your browser.
Services your browser contacts without a cookie
Some things load from other servers whenever you open a page, whatever you have chosen, because the page cannot display without them. Your browser sends them its IP address and ordinary request details, as with any website. Our code asks for no cookies from them.
- Google Fonts (
fonts.googleapis.com,fonts.gstatic.com): the IBM Plex Mono typeface. - OpenFreeMap (
tiles.openfreemap.org): map tiles for the world map on the home page. - Stripe (
checkout.stripe.com,billing.stripe.com): only if you subscribe to Pro or manage your subscription. Those pages are on stripe.com, not on our domain, so any cookies Stripe sets there belong to Stripe and are covered by its cookie policy. Our own pages set none for it. - Supabase (our project's address): only when you sign in or use a signed-in feature.
Your choices
Use PRIVACY CHOICES in the menu bar at any time to accept, reject or change activity recording, and to refuse, or choose non-personalised or personalised, advertising. Rejecting is as easy as accepting, and nothing is switched on before you choose.
