Romania has signed a contract with the French defence procurement agency DGA for 12 Airbus H225M helicopters under the EU SAFE programme, marking the second such agreement between the two parties.

The H225Ms will gradually replace the IAR‑330 Puma fleet of the Romanian Air Force and are intended for conventional and special operations; Romania has already ordered two H215M Marine helicopters and previously purchased seven H160s under the same programme.
