Bangladesh to sign Airbus deal for ten aircraft

Bangladesh plans to sign an agreement with Airbus for ten aircraft, including four A350‑900s and six A321neos, with deliveries targeted before 2030.
Signing ceremony
The government will sign the agreement on Wednesday at Dhaka’s Radisson Blu Water Garden Hotel. The event is titled “Spreading Our Wings Together”.
Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashiduzzaman Millat, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humaiun Kobir, Invest Bangladesh Chairman Ashik Chowdhury and Airbus India & South Asia Managing Director Jorg Westermeyer are scheduled to attend the signing ceremony.
President and Managing Director of Airbus (India and South Asia) Jürgen Westermeier and Biman Board Chairman Rumee A Hossain will sign the agreement.
Aircraft order
The order comprises ten aircraft: four A350‑900 wide‑body jets and six A321neo narrow‑body jets.
Bangladesh wants deliveries of the ten Airbus aircraft to begin before 2030.
Additional cooperation
The government is also seeking Lufthansa cooperation to establish an MRO facility and develop a skilled workforce.
