AirBaltic filed for Chapter 11 protection in the United States in September and said it will cut between 500 and 700 jobs at its bases in Riga, Vilna and Tallin.

The airline has secured €140 million in financing, which is part of a €350 million funding package, and union president Dace Kavasa accused the carrier of “pure union persecution” after it rejected an 85% part‑time work proposal.
