Romania purchased 12 Airbus H225M helicopters to progressively replace its IAR-330 Puma aircraft, with an estimated cost of about 800 million euros.

The agreement provides for technology transfer, licensing and personnel training in France, and the creation of a final assembly line for the H225M in Romania, while the country also plans to acquire 30 additional H225M helicopters produced locally and has obtained seven H160 and five H145 helicopters for the Ministry of Interior under the SAFE instrument.
