British Airways announced on 5 October 2026 a fleet‑wide retrofit of its twelve Airbus A380s, installing more than 35,000 individual parts on each aircraft, with the first refurbished jet expected to enter service in the coming months.

The new interior will replace the current 469‑seat layout with either 421 seats, as reported by one source, or 417 seats according to others, featuring 12 First‑class suites, 106 business‑class (Club Suite) seats that occupy the entire upper deck, 84 World Traveller Plus seats and 215 economy seats, a reduction of about 30 % in economy capacity.
