Queen Suthida of Thailand performed her first solo flight in a JAS 39D Gripen at Wing 7 in Surat Thani, with King Maha Vajiralongkorn observing from pre‑flight inspections through to landing.

The queen now has 1,188.48 total flight hours across various aircraft, including 315.33 hours in a Cessna T‑41, 105.59 hours in a Pilatus PC‑9, 137.50 hours in a Piper PA‑34 Seneca, 480.20 hours combined in Boeing 737‑400 and 737‑800, and previously logged 10.13 hours in the two‑seat JAS 39D Gripen.
