Air Canada announced it will terminate its non‑stop Vancouver International Airport (YVR) to Singapore Changi Airport (SIN) service, which began on 3 April 2024, with the final flights scheduled for late January 2027.

The route covered 7,967 miles (12,818 km), had a block time of up to 16 hours 45 minutes, operated four times per week with a Boeing 787‑9 configured with 30 lie‑flat business‑class pods, 21 premium‑economy seats and 247 economy seats.

Air Canada said the cancellation was caused by rising operational costs, weaker‑than‑expected premium cabin yields and low load factors in off‑peak periods.

Why it matters

The move reflects a shift in capacity allocation as Air Canada redirects wide‑body aircraft toward more profitable routes, affecting its network strategy and revenue management.
