Frederick Municipal Airport hosts fourth Frederick Festival of Flight with 10,000 visitors

On October 3, Maryland’s Frederick Municipal Airport hosted the fourth Frederick Festival of Flight, attracting about 10,000 visitors.

The festival showcased static displays of Cessnas, a Cirrus SR20, a 2022 Hatz Classic and a Piper Tri‑Pacer, offered rides in the Hagerstown Aviation Museum’s Fairchild PT‑19, and featured a Boeing CH‑47 Chinook, a Bell UH‑1H Huey and a Leonardo AW139 “Trooper 3” helicopter for photo opportunities, while formation flybys included two World War II‑era Beechcraft T‑6 Texans and two French Socata TB 30 Epsilon aircraft; AOPA’s National Aviation Community Center provided STEM activities, drone cage flights, and seminars on pilot training and air‑traffic‑control topics with an FAA speaker.
