Boeing Global Services will provide a drop‑in replacement of the 737 Control Display Unit with a touch‑screen AMLCD that keeps the same alphanumeric layout as the original unit.

The new unit does not alter the flight‑management system or replace the flight management computer, and it can serve both legacy GE FMCs and the newer Boeing Flight Management System provided the aircraft has matching FMC types and the emulated keyboard matches the replaced unit.

The FAA Flight Standardization Board draft review in February 2025 concluded the touch‑screen unit is functionally equivalent to the existing MCDU and requires only a briefing or knowledge module for transition.
