Ryanair announced a reduced winter flight plan for 2026 in Germany, cutting 700,000 seats – a 10% reduction compared with winter 2025 – in Berlin and Hamburg and will close its Berlin base with seven aircraft from 24 October.

The airline also said it will lower capacity in Hamburg by 5%, in Memmingen by 12% and in Köln/Bonn by 10%, and will withdraw from Bremen entirely in summer 2027, calling Berlin Brandenburg Airport the most unsuccessful airport in Europe after a 30% traffic decline from 36 million passengers in 2019 to 26 million in 2025 and criticising the airport’s air traffic control authority.
