Biman Bangladesh Airlines signed a firm order with Airbus for ten aircraft – four A350-900s and six A321neos – marking its first purchase from the European manufacturer; the signing, originally set for 31 August, was postponed to October.

The carrier currently operates 19 aircraft, including Boeing 777-300ER, 787-8, 787-9, 737-800 and De Havilland Dash 8-400 types, and its official plan targets a fleet of 47 aircraft by fiscal year 2034‑35, with deliveries of the new Airbus jets expected to begin in 2033 and possibly continue to 2036 or 2037.
