Israeli police are inspecting two senior Transport Ministry officials for possible conflicts of interest after security shortcomings were identified on Flydubai flight FZ1073.

Dvir Rubinstein, responsible for aviation safety, had provided paid consulting and training services to foreign airlines including Flydubai and Emirates, a side activity the ministry says was approved, while Avri Cohen, head of the security department, worked since 2018 as a security employee for Israeli airlines at a foreign airport without ministry approval.
