American Airlines to build its largest Admirals Club lounge at Charlotte

American Airlines announced plans for a new Admirals Club lounge of more than 40,000 square feet in the atrium mezzanine at Charlotte Douglas International Airport, with chief customer officer Heather Garboden saying it will give customers more space to relax, work and recharge.

Construction is slated to begin later this year according to one source, while another expects it to start before the end of 2026 and a third states construction began in 2026; the existing Admirals Club lounges in Concourses B and C/D and the provision near Gate A1 will stay open during the build.

The new lounge is targeted to open in early 2028.
