Dubai Airports reports electricity cut, solar rollout and waste initiatives in ESG update

Dubai Airports said it cut electricity use by 144.72 GWh versus its 2019 baseline as of June 2025 and has installed a 45 MWp rooftop solar programme across Dubai International and Dubai World Central airports, while introducing a 5% biodiesel blend for airport and partner vehicle fleets.

The airport operator also delivered 24,115 learning hours to 1,531 staff and 17,349 service partners, operates seven food‑waste digesters with a combined capacity of 4,900 kg per day, and aims to divert 76% of its total waste from landfill in 2025.
