Arfat Sheikh was detained by ICE at Washington Dulles International Airport on September 24, 2026 and is being held at the Caroline Detention Facility in Bowling Green, Virginia.

He was scheduled to appear before an immigration judge on Tuesday for a procedural hearing and bond assessment, while ICE arrests across the United States reached about 50,000 in July and August, a record level for the summer.
