Wizz Air has postponed its planned return to Abu Dhabi from late October 2026 to 10 January 2027.

The delay is attributed to EASA safety guidelines, the closure of Iraqi airspace, longer flight routes, the need for technical stops to refuel A321neo aircraft and high fuel prices, while Jordan’s airspace was added to EASA’s prohibited list until 25 October 2026. The carrier’s broader Middle East expansion still targets 12 routes, 49 weekly flights and 470,000 seats across nine European cities to the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Jordan, with services originating from Poland, Bulgaria, Romania, Cyprus and Hungary.
