Axiom Space discusses sending a Turkish astronaut and university partnerships

Axiom Space CEO Dr. Jonathan Cirtain said talks with Turkey about human spaceflight are ongoing and he expects to launch another Turkish astronaut soon, while confirming the company is seeking partnerships with Turkish universities through its university alliance.

Axiom Space previously sent Turkish scientific payloads on the Ax-3 mission to the International Space Station, has completed four private astronaut missions involving 11 countries and 160 research activities, and has been selected by NASA to lead its fifth private astronaut mission scheduled for 2027; the company plans to launch the first Axiom Station module no later than 2028 and a second module in 2029.
