The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration issued an airworthiness directive for Airbus A380 engines model GP7270, GP7272 and GP7277 after an aborted takeoff was traced to a failed intermediate seal in the high‑pressure turbine.

The directive mandates removal of the 15 intermediate seals with the highest cycle counts, with compliance required within 50 flight cycles or 30 days of the directive’s effective date of 23 October, whichever occurs first, and it does not affect any U.S.-registered A380 aircraft because there are no U.S. operators.
