Azul Conecta and Auren Energia announced a partnership to offset carbon emissions from Azul Conecta flights in 2026, using certified carbon credits that will not cost passengers additional fees.

The offsetting is part of Azul’s voluntary Conecta NetZero program aimed at neutralising emissions from its operations and targets an estimated 10,000 tCO₂eq per year. The credits will be sourced from the wind farms Ventos do Piauí I and Ventos do Araripe III owned by Auren Energia. They are certified by the Verified Carbon Standard program administered by Verra and are eligible for the pilot phase of ICAO’s Corsia scheme. After use, the credits will be retired in Verra’s registry in the name of Azul Conecta, preventing reuse or resale.
