A Cessna Citation business jet crashed at Bedford County Airport on Wednesday morning just before 11 a.m. as it was reportedly departing from the field.

The aircraft skidded off the runway, crossed Belden Drive and came to rest in a nearby field, where it was engulfed in flames; both the pilot and co‑pilot suffered non‑life‑threatening injuries and were taken to Bedford Hospital, and online flight data indicated the flight was headed for Baltimore. The jet is owned by Shober's Equipment LLC, a Bedford‑based power equipment company.
