Aena signed a purchase agreement on 6 October to acquire the concession for Rio de Janeiro‑Galeão Airport, winning the auction with a bid of 2.9 billion Real.

The concession runs until 2039 and will add Galeão to Aena’s network, bringing its portfolio to 18 airports in ten Brazilian states serving more than 63 million passengers annually and joining a global network of 81 airports across five countries.
