On 2 October, British investigators seized 25 inflatable boats at the freight centre of East Midlands airport.

The boats were part of an air freight shipment from Turkey to the Netherlands and each could carry about 70 people across the English Channel; this is the first seizure of such items in an air freight shipment in the United Kingdom.
