The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) said it will prioritise affordable airline ticket prices during the Nataru 2026/2027 holiday period, with Director Agustinus Budi Hartono noting the need for safe, comfortable and low‑cost flights as mobility rises.

To achieve this, the government will apply a VAT stimulus (PPN‑DTP) that follows the current 11% VAT rate for selected flights, while a Ministerial Regulation drafting the stimulus is pending harmonisation; Kemenhub is also reviewing Passenger Service Charge and fuel surcharge components, will open an integrated post, strengthen operational oversight, and increase aircraft inspections before and during the holiday.
