Stuttgart Airport suspends operations after bomb threat by passenger

Flight operations at Stuttgart Airport were suspended between 16:30 and 18:00 after a 24‑year‑old passenger told a security staff member that he had a bomb in his luggage and the Bundespolizei evacuated the security area and halted all arrivals and departures.

A search found no danger, the operation was ended, the passenger was excluded from his flight to Hurghada, Egypt and an investigation for disturbing public peace was opened; about thirty flights and three thousand passengers were affected, with nine flights cancelled, nine diverted mainly to Nürnberg and Karlsruhe/Baden‑Baden and eleven delayed up to three hours.
