Qatar Airways launches Qpoints offers, Virgin Australia announces discounted Europe

Qatar Airways introduced double‑Qpoints and tier‑restoration promotions, Virgin Australia opened an early‑bird sale to European cities, Tuscany airports posted record passenger traffic, and LATAM Airlines signed codeshare agreements with Qatar Airways and Turkish Airlines.
Qatar Airways promotions
From 5 October to 10 October 2026, Burgundy, Silver, Gold and Platinum members can book flights from Doha and collect double Qpoints. From 5 October to 18 December 2026, members can progress faster towards retaining their current tier status. From 11 October to 18 December 2026, members can restore their previously held membership status when booking journeys from Doha, with travel under the Tier Restoration offer possible between 11 October 2026 and 1 April 2027. The Tier Restoration offer applies to members whose tiers were downgraded between 1 March and 4 October 2026 or whose tier is due to expire between 5 October and 18 December 2026.
Virgin Australia early‑bird sale
Virgin Australia launched an early‑bird sale offering flights to Paris, Barcelona, Rome and London priced between $1,641 and $1,930. Bookings are open until the end of October for travel dates between January and October 2027. Perth residents can book Barcelona for $1,641 and Paris for $1,725; Sydneysiders can book Paris for $1,869 and Barcelona for $1,797; Brisbane residents can book Barcelona for $1,758, Paris for $1,799 and London for $1,930; Melbourne residents can book Barcelona for $1,916. Velocity Frequent Flyer members can earn up to 24,000 bonus Velocity Points on eligible return bookings.
LATAM codeshare agreements
LATAM Airlines Colombia signed a codeshare agreement with Qatar Airways that allows passengers to connect from Colombia and South America to Qatar Airways’ international network via Doha. The Qatar Airways agreement covers 17 LATAM domestic destinations: Bogotá, Armenia, Barranquilla, Bucaramanga, Cali, Cartagena, Cúcuta, Ibagué, Leticia, Medellín, Montería, Neiva, Pereira, Pasto, Riohacha, San Andrés, Santa Marta and Yopal.
LATAM Airlines Colombia also signed a codeshare agreement with Turkish Airlines that enables Turkish Airlines to market eight LATAM domestic segments, allowing passengers to connect from Bogotá to Leticia, Montería, Pereira, Pasto, Neiva, Yopal, Riohacha and Ibagué.
Tuscany airport traffic
Tuscany airports recorded over 1 million passengers in September, a 7.9 % increase from the previous period.
The Tuscany Airport System reported 8 million passengers in September 2026, a 5.6 % increase over September 2025. Florence “Amerigo Vespucci” Airport recorded 400 000 passengers in September 2026, a 4.0 % increase over September 2025, with a record daily count of 15 578 passengers on 27 September 2026. Pisa “Galileo Galilei” Airport recorded 664 000 passengers in September 2026, a 10.6 % increase over September 2025.
