Bologna airport has set a limit on passenger growth, ending the Marconi plan that aimed to raise traffic from 11 million in 2025 to 15 million by 2035.

Transport spokesperson Dario Balotta of Europa Verde said the decision favours environmental and acoustic protection over economic gains, noting the airport posted a profit of €24.6 million while handling 11.1 million passengers, compared with Orio al Serio’s €8.6 million profit on 17 million passengers.
