A pilot from Oman attacked the captain of Flydubai flight FZ 1073, which was operating from Dubai to Tel Aviv with 182 people on board, and tried to take control of the aircraft.

The pilot had used two earlier flights to Tel Aviv to familiarize himself with the route and intended to crash the plane into Ben Gurion International Airport; he used a kitchen knife from the cockpit to carry out the assault, but passengers and crew overpowered him and the aircraft made an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia.
