The tender for air territorial continuity on the Alghero‑Milano Linate route failed as no airline submitted a bid, and the original contract had planned eight flights from 1 February 2027 to March 2029.

Regione Sardegna will launch a new tender while travel remains possible because Ita Airways has agreed to extend the current service until 31 January 2027, and regional transport assessor Barbara Manca said the region is addressing the link’s difficulties, launching a new procedure, and aiming to secure the connection with lower fares and more frequencies.
