United Airlines removed Captain Ibrahim R. Mossallam from flight duty pending an internal review.

Mossallam had been suspended in 2023 over Facebook posts describing the October 7 attacks as “resistance by a brave people” and “not unprovoked”. United later allowed him to resume flying after an earlier investigation but has not publicly explained the findings. An Israeli journalist reported that two United pilots traveling as passengers gave up first‑class seats to monitor him, and that United had sought to fire him but the pilots’ union intervened. United has not publicly addressed those claims, and a travel website reported on October 7, 2026 that United denied an Israeli media report claiming he was back on duty. Mossallam flies Boeing 757 and 767 aircraft for United.
