Romania signed an agreement with France’s Armament General Directorate to purchase 12 Airbus H225M helicopters, a contract supported by the European Commission’s Security Action for Europe (SAFE) initiative.

The new H225Ms will replace the Romanian Air Force’s IAR‑330 Puma fleet and will be used for conventional and special operations, while the deal also aims to strengthen Romania’s defence and industrial capabilities through a partnership with IAR Brașov.
