Fitch upgrades Ontario International Airport bonds to A+ ahead of $175.8 million issuance

Fitch Ratings assigned the Ontario International Airport Authority an A+ rating on its airport revenue bonds, upgrading $103 million of bonds from A‑minus and also rating $175.8 million of bonds, series 2026A and 2026B, at A+.

The authority announced plans to issue roughly $50 million of fixed‑rate tax‑exempt Series 2026A bonds and about $125 million of Series 2026B bonds, with proceeds earmarked for capital improvements, repayment of subordinated revenue notes, capitalized interest, debt service reserve funding and issuance costs. Ontario International Airport reported a 31% rise in international travel, serving more than 450,000 international passengers and reaching almost 4.7 million total passengers in the first eight months of 2026, while August 2026 saw 606,000 travelers, down 6.2% from the same month in 2025.
