The Kenya Forest Service (KFS) has invited public comments on a proposal to build an airstrip at the Londiani Forest Station in Kericho County and will hold a stakeholder meeting on 15 October 2026, with written submissions accepted until 22 October 2026 through official KFS channels.

In June 2026, the Environment and Land Court in Meru suspended plans for a State Lodge, airstrip and golf course in Upper Imenti Forest, barring the Meru County Government, KFS and other respondents from proceeding until a pending case is determined, after a petition by Rhino Ark Charitable Trust citing potential impacts on wildlife habitat.
