Industry group urges affordable fees in Canada airport privatization plan

Jeff Morrison, CEO of the National Airlines Council of Canada, said affordability must be maintained in any plan to privatise Canada’s four largest airports, as Prime Minister Mark Carney seeks private investors to take over their operations.

He noted that in the decade before 2015, the four biggest airports in Australia raised carrier fees by 81 percent, highlighting the risk of steep cost increases under private management.
