A teenage girl riding an e‑scooter was killed Sunday afternoon after being hit by a car at the Tejon Avenue and Airport Drive intersection.

The intersection features a crosswalk with flashing beacons, about eight fluorescent signs, and the crosswalk has been in place since 2017; District 3 Supervisor Jeff Flores said it was intended to improve safety for pedestrians walking to a nearby skate park, and he is committed to making improvements, though he has not yet received data on crash frequency, has asked for the CHP report on the incident, and wants increased California Highway Patrol enforcement to catch speeding and traffic violations.
