Woman indicted after nearly 50 pounds of meth found in suitcases at Las Vegas airport

Tamya Norwood checked two suitcases at Harry Reid International Airport on July 1 that contained nearly 50 pounds of methamphetamine, according to an indictment.

She is charged with one count of possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance and faces a mandatory minimum of 10 years and a lifetime maximum penalty, with a jury trial scheduled to begin on Dec. 14.
