On 7 October, ACI Europe presented its new Sustainable Development Strategy 2.0 for airports at a seminar in Tachkent together with ICAO EUR/NAT.

The strategy builds on the 2019 version and expands sustainability to environmental, social and economic considerations, covering seven domains: decarbonisation and energy transition, climate‑change adaptation and resilience, local environmental quality and community impact, circular economy and resource management, biodiversity/soil use/ecology on the runway, sustainable mobility and communities. It also offers concrete tools such as runway‑equipment electrification, fee modulation for sustainable‑fuel aircraft, flood or overheating risk assessment, resilient infrastructure for extreme storms, real‑time noise and air‑quality monitoring stations, and local‑employment insertion.
