The first F-16 Block 72 aircraft for Morocco made its inaugural flight on 6 October at Lockheed Martin’s Greenville, South Carolina facility.

Morocco has ordered 25 new Block 72 jets and is upgrading 23 existing F-16C/D Block 52 aircraft to the F-16V standard, creating a combined fleet of 48 aircraft that will incorporate systems such as the Northrop Grumman AN/APG-83 AESA radar, with deliveries of the new jets expected to begin in 2027.
