Norse Atlantic flies reduced capacity amid high fuel costs, sees revenue rise
Norse Atlantic Airways is operating with reduced capacity because of persistently high kerosene prices, while reporting a 35 percent increase in revenue compared with the previous year and a seat load factor of 96.9 percent. In September the airline carried about 109,200 passengers, roughly one third fewer than a year earlier.
CEO Eivind Roald said the carrier will keep the reduced capacity and is optimizing fleet allocation, placing greater emphasis on Far East bookings and cutting its US network to only Orlando tickets from November. Norse is also in talks to lease Boeing 787 aircraft that Indigo will return at the end of October.
