Lufthansa retires A340‑600 fleet on 18 Oct, replaces with A340‑300

Lufthansa will end operations of its Airbus A340‑600 on 18 October, with the final flights on the Frankfurt‑New York (JFK) and Frankfurt‑Washington routes.

From 19 October the airline will use the A340‑300 on those routes; Lufthansa owned four A340‑600 aircraft as of 31 July and will keep 12 A340‑300 in service, planning to retire the A340‑300 fleet in 2027.
