American Airlines plans a 40,000‑square‑foot Admirals Club on the mezzanine level at Charlotte Douglas International Airport, with construction to begin later this year and an opening targeted for early 2028.

The new club will be the largest Admirals Club in American’s network, exceeding the 37,000‑square‑foot club at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, and it is separate from the airport’s planned Flagship Lounge whose details have not been announced; passengers will continue to have access to existing Admirals Clubs in Concourses B and C/D and provisions near Gate A1 during construction.

Charlotte is American’s second‑largest hub, handling 53.6 million passengers last year, with more than 650 peak‑day flights linking over 180 destinations in 27 countries, and American and its subsidiaries accounted for nearly 90% of the airport’s passengers in fiscal year 2025.
