Man struck by Leonardo Express train at Rome Trastevere station, service to Fiumicino

A man about fifty years old was hit by a Leonardo Express train at Trastevere station in Rome while the train was heading to Fiumicino airport.

Rail traffic towards Fiumicino was suspended after the incident and emergency services, police and fire services responded to the scene; police are investigating the cause and the man is believed to have jumped onto the tracks before the train arrived, suggesting a possible suicide.
