A Delta Air Lines Airbus A350 clipped the right horizontal stabilizer of an Air Canada Boeing 777 while taxiing at Los Angeles International Airport around 10:30 a.m. local time.

The impact tore off the A350’s winglet and left a large gash in the 777’s tail; both aircraft were taken out of service for inspection and repairs and no injuries were reported among the occupants.

Passengers were expected to be rebooked and face flight delays as the FAA investigates the incident.
