On 30 September Israel fired fighter jets at a Flydubai aircraft after detecting it approaching Israeli territory, then recalled the fighters when it learned the plane was heading toward Saudi Arabia about 645 km from Israel.

While in Saudi airspace the aircraft suddenly descended more than 5,000 m, transmitted emergency codes 7700 and 7500, and after the co‑pilot attempted to lock the cockpit, passengers and crew regained control and performed an emergency landing at Tabuk, Saudi Arabia; the flight carried more than 170 passengers, mainly Israelis, from Dubai to Tel Aviv.
