Carrasco Airport expands into logistics, e‑commerce and pharma hub

Carrasco Airport is broadening its activities beyond passenger and cargo transport to include logistics, e‑commerce and company installations, according to CEO Diego Arrosa of Aeropuertos Uruguay.
The airport is creating a pharmaceutical hub that brings together more than 15 companies distributing from Uruguay to other markets, while Latin America Cargo City is constructing a new e‑commerce logistics terminal on the former airport site to attract new brands.
Why it matters
The diversification aims to let the airport compete regionally by speed, attractive regulation and providing a platform for companies, enhancing its role beyond traditional airline operations.
