Elixir Aircraft grounded after fatal crash in France
On 1 October an Elixir aircraft crashed at Rochefort‑Saint‑Agnant, killing both pilots who were employees of the manufacturer, and the incident occurred around 11 a.m. on the grounds of the adjacent air force base 721. Elixir Aircraft immediately ordered all operators to keep their aircraft on the ground, affecting about 60 aircraft in five countries.
The European Aviation Safety Agency issued a temporary ban on all Elixir aircraft on 2 October and followed with an urgent airworthiness directive prohibiting all Elixir operations on 3 October. The British Civil Aviation Authority also took over the ban on Elixir aircraft.
