Houthis claim missile strike on Riyadh airport and warn airlines against Saudi airspace

Houthi military spokesman said a missile hit King Khalid International Airport and other Saudi sites, while the Saudi‑led coalition reported 100 fighter jets in sorties and claimed 324 Houthi targets destroyed.
Claimed strike on Riyadh airport
Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree said a missile achieved a direct and precise hit on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, disrupting air traffic. He added that the airport remained operational but Flightradar24 data showed average delays of 38 minutes.
The Houthi spokesman also said the strike was part of three coordinated attacks, the first targeting the Riyadh airport, the second hitting an Aramco refinery in Rabigh and starting fires, and the third striking Abha Airport, Khamis Mushait air base, Aqeefah military camp and other sites in Najran and Jizan.
Coalition air operations
The Saudi‑led coalition said 100 fighter jets flew sorties at dawn in Operation Dawn of Yemen and claimed to have destroyed 324 Houthi targets since the campaign began.
Turki Al‑Malki, spokesman for the coalition, said its naval forces hit military targets in Hodeida, destroying weapons depots and thwarting a planned attack.
Airline warning
The Houthi‑run Humanitarian Operations Coordination Centre warned all airlines operating in Saudi airspace that the Kingdom’s skies could become a theatre of military operations, exempting only the routes to Mecca and Medina.
The warning was issued in response to Saudi airstrikes on Houthi‑held areas in Yemen and was intended to safeguard civilian aviation and passengers.
