ESA astronaut Sara García Alonso completes training and presents mission outlook

Sara García Alonso finished her 2024‑2026 training period at ESA’s European Astronaut Centre and delivered a talk on Friday at the Parque de las Ciencias in Granada.
She said a likely short‑duration mission would be promoted nationally with experiments from Spanish research centres and universities, and would depend on the Spanish Government, ESA, NASA and ISS research opportunities; she also highlighted the use of AI for space exploration, astronaut training and oncology drug discovery, and reached 450 attendees in person and more than 48,000 schoolchildren online from over 1,060 centres across Spain.
